@ Kentish Town Forum, London. 07/03/08
Standing in the freezing cold for two hours, the queue grows rapidly for the Apocalyptica show. The Finnish cello bearing boys are popular in the UK, but were about to find out just how much that rings true. Greeted on stage to tummultuious applause, Apocalyptica hit in with the opening tack of their new album "Worlds Collide" and the Forum erupts. Shortly followed by Sepultura's "Refuse Resist", two songs in and the crowd are lapping it up, with every break in play comes apocalyptic applause, the roof is almost lifted off. Their style is as always beautiful and perfect and most of the new album is performed including "I'm Not Jesus", "Helden", "Ion" & "SOS".
What is truly remarkable about Apocalyptica is the superb stage presence and their ability to rouse the crowd, all demonstrated tonight. there is even a moment where the drummer drops a drum stick and miraculously seems to pull another out of thin air without missing a beat. "Life Burns" & "Bittersweet" are thoroughly enjoyable whilst the classics of "Enter Sandman", "Master Of Puppets" & "Seek & Destroy" are sang along too heartily by the throbbing pulsating crowd. NEVEt again will you see a mosh pit to what is of course classical music. Two encours are performed which include Rammstein's "Seeman" as well as the zaney Alton Towers Theme, demanded by a crowd who simply would let the band leave. They bow at the end, all smiles and politeness, knowing that they have truly put on a world class show!! Nobody here will ever forget tonight. Apocalyptica be proud!
