CHICKENHAWK
[Sound Devastation Records]

Now I may be completely off base with this assumption, but I swear I saw Chickenhawk many hyears ago play the grotty upstairs room of the Cricketers Arms pub in Sheffield. If it is the same band I'm thinking of then I recall them being very amusing and also suprisingly entertaining, and sporting a drummer who was dressed as Batman, I'm sure the band will confirm this either way!

Their new self titled album released through Sound Devastion Records does have to battle through tome shocking production work and in places comes out sounding like Send More Paramedics but without all the gore and zombies. In other places they do sport quite a methodical and technical sound, and then complete with their hypnotic CD [seriously watch it as it spins] and their rather awesome artwork and Chickenhawk have put together a rather impressive package.

The production is abysmal and doesn't do this band any justice at all which is a shame because they are extremely enjoyable. It's all very raw sounding, fun and heavy! So whilst your laughing at the name, you might want to take serious note of this bunch!!
