Interviews for the December 1, 2007 show at The Black Castle for Dona Eis Requiem

Before Dona Eis Requiem took the stage I had the pleasure to talk to a few people and get their input on what they think of Dona Eis Requiem.

.Tracy Terrorist.

.A.B. -When was the first time you had the opportunity to watch Dona Eis Requiem perform?

Tracy- I first got a chance to see Dona Eis Requiem at Summoning the War Legions.

.A.B.-What did you think of the performance?

Tracy-I thought the performance was really good, Requiem is different, they stand out and they create an atmosphere when they perform.

.A.B.-What sort of atmosphere to you think D.E.R. creates when they perform?

Tracy-Very doom, very gloomy.

Tracy- I find Requiem to be original, they don't care what others think, they are not stereotypical of the LA and CA bands, they don't play into being part of a scene, they don't try to be apart of the inner circle. Dona Eis Requiem is true to themselves.

.Andrew Mikhail.

.A.B.-What do you think of Dona's live performances?

Andrew- Jeff and Corey put on an atmospheric performance, when they perform you seem to be at one with the music.

.A.B.- What has been your favorite Requiem show thus far, I know that you have been lucky enough to have attended all of them.

Andrew-The overall best stage performance was Summoning the War Legions but the best sound they had was the Katatonia show and the 1349 show matches to the Black Castle Show.

A.B.- In your own words put Dona Eis Requiem into a brief summary for me.

Andrew- D.E.R. embraces soul.

.Jose Oliva. (Impious)

.A.B.- When was the first time you had the pleasure to watch Dona Eis Requiem perform?

Jose- The first time I watched Dona was at Summoning the War Legions.

.A.B.- What did you think of their performance then? Do you think that Requiem has prospects of a good future musically and recognition wise?

Jose- Fucking awesome! Their performance is what makes them, they are pretty unique. I haven't heard many bands with their style, not many bands seem to pursue the same style as they do, its good its different. Requiem will get out there.

.Betty Mankiller.

Constructive criticism is the key to progression in my opinion, and who better to speak with on the subject than the lovely Betty Mankiller.

.A.B.- What do you think of Dona Eis Requiem?

Betty- I think they smell bad.

.A.B.- What do you think of Requiem's performance tonight?

Betty- I feel that this performance was better than the Katatonia performance, they have progressed. Though I did like this performance I was a bit bored, they don't really do anything on stage, Jeff tries to but when he does it is just a bit cheesy. But Eric, he brings it.

.A.B.-Do you think Requiem has the prospect of a good future?

Betty- They are young, they have the opportunity to improve over time, they are getting there. I would have to say that I think the number of members in the band is too vast. It needs to be more minimal, Mark the keyboardist is pointless..

I could tell that Betty had no ill intentions, she was merely giving her honest input. It is input such as this that leaves room for succession.

.Luis Solis.

.A.B.- What specifically caught your attention about D.E.R and their performance?

Luis- They are good, they are different, they stand out from other bands nowadays.

.A.B.- Would you by any chance ever take the time to watch Requiem perform again or take a second listen to their music?

Luis- Yes, they are very good, I really like the music.

.A.B.- What feelings were invoked within you when Requiem took the stage and you heard their music and watched them perform?

Luis- WOW! DOOM?!

.A.B.- Do you think that Requiem will have a good future musically?

Luis- Fuck yes, I would not be taking this interview if I did not think so.

Amanda Welborn.

.A.B.- What did you think of Requiem's overall performance?

Amanda- I really liked the beginning intro for the first song ( The song referred to is called Tum)

.A.B.- Have you heard mention of Requiem before this show, or heard their music?

Amanda- Yes, I have heard them, I found them to be pretty good.

.A.B.- What was the atmosphere you felt around you when Requiem was on stage?

Amanda- It was calm and emotional

.A.B.- What do you think Requiem's future holds in store for them? Do you think they will be successful and become recognized?

Amanda- Yes I do think that D.E.R. will be successful but at the same time it is hard for such a different sounding band to be recognized and meet succession.

I had the chance to speak with many others during the show that night, any mention of Dona Eis Requiem never received any ill tidings. I do believe this band is something astronomical. Dona Eis Requiem has the ability to receive such great words due to their ability to put forth great music. Even with such

constructive criticism there came a positive light that was shone upon the band. Dona Eis Requiem is truly an elemental force in music. It is my hypothesis that Dona Eis Requiem will only progress and continue to blow the minds of many.
