"Under The Influence"

Great way to start an EP, big riffs, great melody, but the vocals really need work. This is Stoner Groove Metal as it should be though, fast loud and brutal. "Under The Influence" is eight tracks of pure headbanging fury, and while it does have a slight amateurish sound to it you cannot help but be impressed by what this young band have to offer. Extravagant solo guitar play permeates most tracks and the whole thing has a realy southern drawl to it. Even the vocals grow on you. At first they sound off key but the echo effect embedded in the sound actually really works. This is a feel good EP and "Under The Influence" could do just as it name suggests and have you under it's spell. Not much in the way of original creativity with this band, and you might say that they are another in a long list of Black Label Society wannabe bands, but as long as the tunes stay as good as this, i'm happy.
