VISCERA - "Cull The Herd"

VISCERA
"Cull The Herd"

Death Metal from Guildford next in the form of Gwan Ross on drums, Jamie Sweeney on Guitar, Dave Axcell on vocals, Tom McCarthy on the other guitar and finally Pederico Benini on bass, all combining to make yound English band Viscera whose new EO "Cull The Herd" is now available.

Though slightly below average production is a problem here, I think you'll find that it's the only one. During opening track "Graveyard Landslide" you instantly get a feel for the harshness of the Viscera boys and it's plain to see that they take nothing lightly when it comes to their music. catchy solid and aggressive, it's an impressive start. "The Blind Faithful" continues the harsh feel and the vitriolic tendencies, with good intricate riff-age and raw vocal talent. As "Cycles Of Slaughter" kicks in you do begin to realise that Viscera don't have much in theer repetoire and the ongs do all seem to have the same sound and theme, but at least in "Reside In Silence" the pace is picked up and there are some almost jazz like interludes to break the flow. Finishing off the demo is the most brutal track of them all "Born Into Rest" which combines all the harshest and brutal qualities of Viscera and spits them out right at you.

Not the most creative band but then theres plenty of hostility within them to keep you going.
